Technology: rescue and evacuation system MERS multiple

In 2009 at the meeting IKAR-annual CISA in Zermatt, Switzerland, we could see the hand of the personnel of the company Air Zermatt / Air Glaciers aeroevacuaciĆ³n a new concept created by the operators of such businesses as a quick and effective response multiple evacuations in the mountains.

The MERS (Multiple Rescue Evacuation System) as its name suggests, is a system used for evacuations of several people at once. As shown in the video, it is convenient to evacuate personnel from a chair lift, cable car or mountain any situation where weather conditions permit and the victims can harness or be subject to a vertical lifting operation.

Based on a multiplier aluminum plate, which holds up to 6 mooring lines (rescued included) made with 11mm static rope, which each have a locking carabiner on the end, the MERS facilitates Identification of each completed rapidly and the coupling to the victim and prepared with a harness or evacuation triangle.

Different characteristics, this system has great potential in situations of military evacuation (CSAR) in urban environments or in cases of fire in buildings such as the proven system CIVIS. Surely not take long to see operating in various environments height rescue.
