EARLY DOORS - DOORS EARLY
The world's a stage (including the Algarve in Portugal where, according to Gerry McCann, "everybody is acting, some very much"). And all the actors have their exits and entries - for you and for me, doors and windows.
The Telegraph of May 5, 2007, citing Trish Cameron, the sister of Gerry McCann candidly conveys the information that you sent Gerry.
"There were children lying at 19.00 and were monitored every half hour and they were dining nearby with the rest of the group. Gerry said the window was open, the shutters broken and the door had been locked, was also hanging open. "
The Sun on May 5 gave a corroborating version, kindly extended to provide additional justification to the apartment closed.
"Kate returned at 22:00 to watch. The door was open, the window had been violated, the blind had been forced and Maddie had disappeared. "
" He (Gerry) said, "Maddie has been abducted has been kidnapped." Just had been touched in the apartment, nothing was missing valuable, nor passports. "
Obviously the window was open to the outside world. But it was in this case the door. Had been closed (locked). And considering that he had met "Hanging open" must have been the front door hanging off hinges, no patio door, which slides on rails, or an interior door was not closed (locked) at all. The ruthless kidnapper must therefore be broken into through the window and taken the easy route to exit through the front door.
Several paragraphs later, the backflow of the tale Trish Cameron Gerry McCann, the Telegraph offers regurgitated Jon Kate's Corner:
"She just let out that Madeleine had been abducted . I said, "They have broken the window blind and taken my little girl."
"They had left the apartment closed (locked) over dinner, but when they returned the last time they saw the damage.
" first saw that one of the shutters of the window was forced and then saw that the door was open and the bed was empty - and Madeleine was gone."
Friends of the McCann and her relatives were not hesitant at all when it came to sharing information that had been given directly, and separate themselves by McCann. Since both versions seem to converge, the reader has reasons to accept its accuracy. Well of course we know that long ago that the claim of damage to the window and its accessories were false, although both parents made that claim independently (The Sun reported that John Hill, head of the Ocean Club complex, had insisted that NO had physical evidence that Maddie had been abducted from the apartment. He said: "We still have hope that Madeleine is sleeping under a bush and find it soon.").
Then there is the issue of the patio door, which after all was open ( lock), saving the tedious entry abductor strength, while allowed him (or her) "out the window with sufficient ease." But it is unlikely that even the most dull intruder to enter through the door and then out the window. Hence, since then we have been gifted with a post hoc assumption that the window Kate McCann may have been opened by the abductor as "red herring" (literally red herring.) And the door "hanging open"? What was that - a blue whale?
Corner Repetition made version of the facts of Kate McCann is even more problematic.
" first saw one of the window blinds had been forced ... (So you had to enter the apartment from the front, not the back, using the key if the door was locked) .
... and then saw that the door was open ... (Suggesting the front door was in fact "hanging open").
... and the bed was empty - and Madeleine was gone. "
But between the door and the door was empty bed the bedroom, as we have said since then, "was much more open than we had left." He went, therefore, obvious interference unnoticed inside the apartment, and Kate, by Jon Corner referred to the bedroom door from the beginning? That should be. The McCanns went through the back door of the apartment, they noticed that the bedroom door was open and the children then saw the empty bed. But if that's what Kate said then only the blind could have been damaged in last place, not first. Not only that. Seeing the bedroom door open (from the other side of the apartment) came then to the bedroom, but without receiving the front door open, which after all should be closed, allowing the hijacker sneak through the back door, carrying a prostrate Madeleine on both arms (as described by Jane Tanner.)
Why, in fact how the attacker closed the door behind them? Matthew Oldfield, when he made his post monitoring kidnapping, entered through an open door (unlocked) quad not a door wide open. Nor was this " door had been locked " (as Gerry McCann), ie the front door, was "hanging open." Although he claims not to have gone beyond that bedroom door, at least they would have realized if open. But even if this door that was "hanging open" had not been closed (locked) previously, and therefore could not be the door to Gerry McCann had spoken earlier.
All this inconsistency is fully compatible - also inconsistent with statements made to police. In fact, they are so inconsistent, both within and among the respondents, that one or more must be false. The following excerpts are from the events of Thursday unless otherwise noted:
Gerry McCann (May 4, 2007)
"at 21h05, the respondent entered the club (sic), using his key , with the door closed (locked). "
"About 21:30, his friend Matt ... entered respondent's apartment using the sliding door at the side of the building, which was always open (unlocked)."
" KATE ... entered the apartment through the door using your key. "
" The side door facing the living room ... was never locked, was closed. "
" Lee, confirmed, ratified and signed .
Kate McCann (May 4, 2007)
" entered the apartment through the side door was closed but not locked ."
"Lee, confirmed, ratified and signed"
Gerry McCann (May 10, 2007)
(Sunday) "He left the house through the front door that he was sure have locked the back door is also closed and locked."
"The dinner ended about 23:00 ... That day (Sunday), only the respondent and his wife entered the apartment. sure you always entered through the front door, do not know if the closed (locked) leaving. "
(Wednesday)" In addition to the respondent and his wife, also believes that DAVID PAYNE went to his apartment to check that their children were fine, not Having been informed of any abnormal situation with children. this day, the respondent and Kate had left the back door closed but not locked, to allow entry of his bandmates to monitor children. clear that the main door was always closed but not necessarily locked . "( ITEM: I would add at this point an excerpt from the Declaration of Dianne Webster given on May 10 at the Portuguese police: " says that until then had never been done surveillance on an apartment not own. )
(Thursday) " walked doing the normal route to the back door which, being unlocked only had to slide."
"Three or four MATTHEW returned minutes later ... having entered through the back door , since he had no key and it was normal for them to enter that way. "
" 22h03, KATE alerted again it was time to control children. Immediately he went to the apartment by the normal way, having entered through the back door. "
" Lee, confirmed, ratified and signed. "
Kate McCann (September 6, 2007)
" They went through patio door, they left closed but not locked. The front door was closed but not locked. Cree that could be opened from the inside but not from outside. "
" Gerry was the first to control the children, this was decided on the spot, about 21h05. He rose from the table and entered the apartment through patio door. "
" In Matthew 21:30 ... ... said that he could control their children (those of Kate) ... After ten minutes MATTHEW back ... she assumed she had controlled the children entering through the patio door was closed but not locked. "
" At 22h00 she rose from the table and it was his turn after he was replaced by Matt. Entered the apartment through the patio door was closed, but as already said, not locked. "
"Lee, confirmed, ratified and signed, as the interpreter and the defense attorney.
One could be forgiven for thinking that the police interrogation was an exercise in "multiple choice" and that, given the same template on separate days, could reasonably be expected that respondents opt for different answers. A typical question might be posed as follows:
"The McCanns leave the apartment, leaving the main gate (a) locked (b) unlocked? Returning each comes through (a) the front door locked (b) the front door unlocked (c) the patio door unlocked (d) different doors?
(Hint: Be careful to take into account the day of the week to respond. The door to the patio, for example, the latch was closed on Sunday).
No doubt some would like to conclude that the major part of all this confusion is the result of misunderstandings on the part of partners absent / gone. Strange as it may seem, these second-hand versions should err in the same direction despite being derived from different independent sources, ie, Kate and Gerry McCann, as time one should allow a "casting vote", a version given by someone other than the McCanns, who were present in Praia da Luz at the head of a buffet table instead of a phone. Martin Fricker and Rod Chaytor of the Daily Mirror gave public voice to this person on May 5, 2007, barely 48 hours after the initial announcement of the disappearance of Madeleine.
A woman friend of the McCanns - a group of nine adults and vacation eight children - said: "We went to dinner at 20:45 at a restaurant near the apartment as we did every night.
"A parent of each family returned to watch the kids every half hour.
"Someone found at 21h15. But when Kate went later Madeleine had disappeared.
" The window blind, which had been closed since we arrived on Saturday, was open as the window. can be opened from the outside.
"The window faces the parking lot. The bedroom door was closed. seems as if someone had entered through the window and possibly out the door. "
Well, not improve it? Window blinds, but merely open (no "forced", as Jon Corner goes on to describe how Kate said later in this report) "can be opened from outside." Not when the winding mechanism is on the inside. Unless Corner / Kate are right and the blind was "forced." But it was not. And the door of the room was? "Closed." So no "much more open about how they had left.
Therefore, since May 5, courtesy of an anonymous member of the Tapas group, an unsuspecting / trusting world received all The Portuguese police information needed to advance the search for Madeleine:
"It seems as if someone had entered through the window and possibly out the door."
a Trompe-features l'oeil ( trompe ) are also well done "looks like ..." In other words, a seductive illusion.
