WARNING: False Report on PETZL equipment

Alerted by a statement from the official distributor for PETZL - Austria, sent this statement to all equipment users height of the French firm Petzl, to warn of the danger inherent in using such devices / systems. In the picture above you can see the 4 fake products found so far in the market.

Warned rescuer community beyond the failures recorded in the sample material illegally manufactured and sold from China, these illegal copies do not meet at all with the requirements of the standard CE or rules UIAA .

Dear customers,

We recently discovered in China, illegal copies of our following products: Croll/B16 - Attache/M35 SL - Ascension/B17 and Rescue/P50 . These products have serious flaws in their characteristics and their endurance and strength is greatly influenced.

"There is a high risk that these illegal copies (in normal use) open under very light load and do not withstand even the usual workload.

"These illegal copies do not meet the requirements of the CE and UIAA.

"These copies illegal do not meet all safety standards and quality guaranteed by Petzl.

For example:

These illegal copies are visually identical to the original products from Petzl. Its appearance is reproduced in detail, which makes identification. The following features were copied:

-Design.

-Color.

-All product labels.

-Batch or manual (even the smallest details.)

-Food identical to the original brown cardboard packaging.

-All trademarks on the packaging.

Only a thorough laboratory investigation will allow us to identify these illegal copies. To date we have found only a few fakes in the market. We are active in identifying and marketing chain of these counterfeit products, as the lives of our customers is at severe risk and must cease all marketing, sale or use of these counterfeit devices.

Given the risks in the use of these illegal products is our duty to inform our customers accordingly. Therefore, there is a warning published in the official website Petzl www.petzl.com .

Please help not to sell these counterfeit products:

-Petzl not buy products outside the official distributor in your country or business authorized by your local dealer.
-Avoid any source. If you have any doubt about the authenticity Petzl product, please contact us.

reminder that the sale of PPE (personal protective equipment) carries civil and criminal liability of the seller who is responsible for the acquisition and sale of these products. Together with you, we will achieve through the vigilance and professionalism of our representatives, from origin to remove these illegal copies of our markets.
