News: Successfully Concludes the SIMEX 2010

On November 18, successfully completed the INSARAG - SIMEX 2010 (International Earthquake Simulation). National delegations and international support groups working in the exercise from the 16th November, where meeting facilities IDRD made decisions on search and rescue after an alleged major earthquake in the Colombian city of Bogotá.

The exercise, which has only been done twice in the world, also allowed us to evaluate the protocols and procedures, national and district response search and rescue in collapsed structures and the development of the action from the activation response mobilization and evaluation of them.

During the simulation, the scenarios were created and although virtually no field work, groups and were ACING to the same conditions of a real situation. Each of the groups USE were represented by four members of the team who were responsible for making decisions as the default script of the exercise was provided to participants.

Again, OCHA, INSARAG sets her sights on America and joined to work on the construction of procedures to ensure the safety of their inhabitants and strengthen those who have the responsibility of caring for a nation affected by an event of great magnitude, this includes both response groups as leaders prepare.
